Cosina C1S + 35-70mm Macro Zoom

The Cosina C1S is a straightforward manual 35mm SLR that puts a split-image focusing screen and a full mechanical shutter in a light body. Paired here with the Cosina MC Macro zoom 35-70mm f/3.5-4.8, it covers a useful everyday range and focuses down to about 0.5 m. The shutter runs without batteries, so the camera fires at every speed even when the meter cells are flat. It is a practical way into manual SLR shooting with a zoom lens on the front.
