Kodak Kodacolor 200 (35mm)

A properly interesting roll, and not for the reason you would guess. Kodacolor 200 appeared on 1 October 2025 as one of the first two films Eastman Kodak has sold directly to distributors in over a decade — the opening move in Rochester taking its still-film business back in-house from Kodak Alaris. The Kodacolor name itself dates to 1942, and the retro yellow packaging is a deliberate nod to it. On the emulsion question Kodak has been coy: they have confirmed the Kodacolor films use existing emulsions without saying which, and the consensus across the community is that this is ColorPlus 200 under a classic name. Whatever is inside, it shoots like a warm, nostalgic, slightly softer cousin of Gold — a branch off the same tree that grew sideways rather than up.
