Olympus Stylus 120
Rs. 3,500.00
The Olympus Stylus 120 — the mju-III 120 in Europe and Japan — is one of the last and longest-reaching compacts Olympus made, arriving in 2003 with a 38-120mm zoom covering wide-angle through to proper portrait length in a splash-resistant body. Its eleven-point autofocus array and six-mode flash system, including night-scene and red-eye modes, were about as sophisticated as a 35mm compact ever got before digital took over entirely.

The important thing here is the lens haze, which is visible in the photographs. On a compact the lens is fixed, so haze cannot be cleaned out the way it can on an interchangeable lens — it will reduce contrast and lift flare, particularly shooting into the light. Some photographers actively like that softened, slightly dreamy look; if you want crisp, contrasty negatives this is not the camera for it. Mechanically everything else works properly, which is why it is priced where it is.
