Sony 50mm F1.8

This is the Sony FE 50mm F1.8 (SEL50F18F), a compact full-frame prime for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It sits as Sony's affordable standard prime, pairing a fast f/1.8 aperture with a small, light build, making it a common first prime for photographers moving up from kit zooms. It also sees heavy use on Sony APS-C bodies, where the 50mm focal length behaves like a 75mm equivalent, useful for portraits.

The lens is known for sharp, sometimes clinical rendering stopped down, pleasant background blur wide open, and a plastic-feeling but functional build typical of Sony's budget prime line. It has stayed popular mainly because there is no cheaper way to get a fast 50mm on a Sony full-frame or APS-C body.
