Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III

The camera that made "pocketable" and "serious" stop being opposites. The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III put a 1-inch, 20.1MP BSI sensor and a bright Zeiss 24-70mm f/1.8-2.8 zoom into a body that genuinely disappears into a jacket pocket — and then added the trick that defined the line: a pop-up OLED electronic viewfinder that springs out of the top plate and retracts flush when you're done. Announced in June 2014, the Mark III is still the sweet spot of the RX100 family for most people: the first one with the finder, the flip-up screen and the built-in ND filter, without the price climb of the 4K models that followed.
