The Pentax K1000 is the camera that taught a generation how to shoot — fully mechanical, in production from 1976 to 1997, and famous for having nothing on it you do not need. This is an Asahi-badged example, the earlier Japanese-built version from before Pentax moved K1000 production offshore and dropped the Asahi Optical name from the pentaprism. Collectors look for exactly this badge. Paired with the SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/2, compact and sharp with Pentax's Super Multi Coating, and complete with its original case.

Fully working, meter included, in excellent+ condition and still with its original case. The K1000 is the standard recommendation for a first film camera because there is nothing on it to get wrong — set the shutter speed, turn the aperture until the needle centres, and shoot. An Asahi-badged one in this condition is the version worth holding on to.
