Media DC-8360S

An 8-megapixel CCD compact from the tail end of the 2000s, sold under the Media badge — one of many names the same camera wore. White-label cameras like this were built in volume by Asian OEMs and rebadged for whichever regional brand placed the order; the identical body turns up as the Ergo DC 8360S and under other names besides. There is no manufacturer to look up and no spec sheet to quote, which is part of the charm: this is an anonymous machine that makes the crunchy, unfiltered CCD images people are chasing, without a collector's premium attached to the name on the front.

Being straight about what this is: a generic rebadged compact, so we cannot point you at a manual, a review, or a manufacturer's spec sheet, and the detailed specifications beyond the 8-megapixel CCD are simply not documented anywhere. What we can tell you is that it works, it is in excellent condition, and it produces the look. Runs on AA batteries, which are not included — get rechargeable NiMH cells. If you want CCD character and do not care what the badge says, this is the cheapest route to it.
